Ending the Year with New Roads and Unforgettable Memories 🇨🇳🚲

As 2025 approaches to an end, Brompton Malaysia decided to close the year with a special journey, one that was not only about riding through new places, but also about creating new memories together.
From 25 to 29 December 2025, 50 Brompton riders travelled to Zhuhai, China, bringing their favourite folding bikes beyond borders for the final Brompton adventure of the year.
For some participants, this was more than just another cycling trip. It was their first time experiencing an overseas ride with Brompton. New country, new roads, and new surroundings, but with the same familiar feeling of riding together as a community.
A Journey Beyond the Usual Ride
The Zhuhai Escape was designed to let everyone enjoy the journey at their own pace. Instead of rushing from one destination to another, riders had the chance to slow down, explore, and appreciate every moment along the way.
Over three cycling days, the group explored both the modern city landscapes and peaceful countryside routes of Zhuhai, covering around 42 to 45 kilometres each day.
The ride offered a unique mix of experiences. One moment, riders were cycling through wide city roads surrounded by impressive buildings and modern architecture. The next, they were enjoying quieter countryside views and beautiful coastal scenery.
For first-time overseas Brompton riders, every turn brought a new discovery.
From Scenic Roads to Unexpected Moments
Every cycling trip comes with its own little stories, and Zhuhai was no different.
During one of the rides, the group discovered a beautiful view around the Zhuhai Bridge, turning an ordinary cycling route into a memorable photo stop. The scenery became one of the highlights of the journey, giving riders a chance to pause, take pictures, and enjoy the beauty around them.
Of course, every adventure also comes with small challenges. During the ride, one participant experienced a flat tyre. Thankfully, Malvin handled the situation smoothly, allowing the group to continue the journey without disrupting the fun atmosphere.
Beyond the roads, the friendships built along the way became one of the biggest highlights of the trip. From sharing laughter during breaks to encouraging each other throughout the ride, the journey became more than just cycling.
Among the group, Ms Shirleen from the Singapore counterpart quickly became one of the funniest members, bringing plenty of laughter and energy to the team. Meanwhile, Thye Xi became the unofficial photographer of the trip, capturing countless moments that reflected the happiness and excitement of everyone.
And when it came to speed, nobody could ride ahead of the leader, keeping the group together throughout the adventure.
Discovering Zhuhai Through Two Wheels
Cycling allowed everyone to experience Zhuhai from a different perspective.
Besides enjoying the scenic routes, participants also explored the local culture through food, architecture, and daily life. The group enjoyed delicious local cuisine, admired Zhuhai’s impressive city buildings, and visited a local fish market where riders could even catch a glimpse of Macau across the water.
These moments created a deeper connection with the destination. Instead of simply visiting Zhuhai, everyone experienced it through the rhythm of a Brompton ride.
Ending 2025 with the Brompton Spirit
At the end of the trip, one thing was clear: the Zhuhai Escape was not just about kilometres completed or places visited. It was about the people met along the way, the laughter shared during rides, and the memories created together.
With comfortable weather, beautiful scenery, and a relaxed riding atmosphere, all participants enjoyed the experience and made the trip a meaningful success.
As the final Brompton journey of 2025, Zhuhai became the perfect ending to a year filled with adventures, friendships, and unforgettable rides.
The roads may change, the destinations may be different, but the Brompton spirit remains the same.
