Every Ride Unfolds a New Story

Some cities are meant to be explored on foot. London, however, has a way of revealing itself differently when you're on a Brompton.

For seven unforgettable days, 38 Brompton riders travelled from Singapore to England, not simply to visit famous landmarks, but to experience the city the way locals do. Every morning began with unfolded bikes, excited conversations, and cameras ready to capture another memorable day.

From the lively streets of London to the historic charm of Oxford, every kilometre offered a different perspective. There was no rush to race to the finish. Instead, the journey became about riding together, sharing laughs, stopping for photos, and appreciating the little moments that made the trip unforgettable.

The streets echoed with warm English hospitality as curious locals greeted the group, while riders admired iconic landmarks including Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace and the London Eye. 

A visit to Borough Market introduced everyone to classic British flavours, with fish and chips and English muffins becoming popular favourites after a day in the saddle.

Oxford brought a completely different atmosphere. Cycling through the beautiful surroundings of Oxford University and the famous Radcliffe Camera felt like travelling through centuries of history, where every corner seemed worthy of another photograph. Unsurprisingly, everyone became the group's photographer, making sure no memorable moment was left uncaptured.

Of course, no cycling adventure is complete without unexpected moments.

Despite encountering eight punctures throughout the journey, the group treated each stop as another opportunity to gather, help one another, and share stories while waiting for repairs. The warm late-summer weather, reaching up to 28°C, also reminded everyone that even England could surprise visitors with sunny cycling conditions.

One of the funniest memories belonged to Patrick Phua, whose mobile phone unexpectedly found its way into the River Thames. Although the incident came as a shock, it quickly became one of the trip's favourite stories, bringing plenty of laughter that would be retold long after everyone returned home.

The highlight for many participants came when visiting the Brompton Factory in Greenford and the Brompton store in Covent Garden. Seeing where every Brompton begins its journey gave riders a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship behind their bicycles. It transformed the bikes they ride every day into something far more personal, connecting every participant to the brand's heritage and passion for urban cycling.

The adventure covered approximately 160 kilometres across four memorable rides.

The first ride explored London's most iconic attractions, from Greenford through Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, Borough Market and the London Eye before returning to Ealing.

The second day ventured into the countryside, connecting High Wycombe, Thame and the famous Bicester Village.

The journey then continued into Oxford, where riders cycled through the university city, admired the Radcliffe Camera and visited Oxford Polo.

The final cycling day offered peaceful countryside scenery filled with farms and wildlife before arriving at Brompton's home in Greenford, bringing the adventure full circle.

As the trip came to an end, everyone packed more than souvenirs into their luggage. They returned home with friendships strengthened by shared kilometres, countless photographs, unforgettable laughter, and stories that will continue to be told at future rides.

Because every Brompton folds neatly into a compact package.

But the memories it unfolds can last a lifetime.
