Some trips stay in our hearts because of the people we meet along the way.

For the Brompton Malaysia family, the Legendary Chengdu Rendavour was a journey filled with beautiful scenery, meaningful conversations, and countless moments shared on two wheels.

From 14 to 19 May 2026, 50 Brompton riders travelled together to Chengdu, a city where history, culture, nature, and modern cycling lifestyle came together perfectly.

For some participants, this was their first time joining an overseas cycling adventure. It was not just about exploring a new city, but also about experiencing Chengdu in the most memorable way possible, by riding through its streets, meeting its people, and discovering hidden corners that cannot always be found through a tour bus window.

Every Ride Had Its Own Story

Throughout the five-day cycling journey, every participant experienced Chengdu from a different perspective.

The group travelled through charming ancient towns, beautiful flower fields, refreshing green landscapes, and iconic cultural locations. Along the way, riders constantly stopped to capture photos, not only because the scenery was beautiful, but because every moment with the group was worth remembering.

According to our team member who joined the ride, the most special part was seeing everyone enjoying the journey at their own pace.

Some riders focused on taking in the scenery, while others were busy capturing every beautiful view with their cameras. In fact, almost every participant became the “photographer” of the group, making sure no memorable moment was left behind.

The journey was not about reaching the destination as quickly as possible. It was about enjoying the road together.

A Cycling-Friendly City That Welcomed Us

One of the biggest surprises during the trip was how comfortable cycling in Chengdu felt.

The city’s dedicated cycling lanes provided a smooth riding experience, while local drivers and pedestrians showed great respect towards cyclists. Whenever the group passed through the streets, locals would patiently give way and allow the riders to continue safely with a big wave in greetings.

For many participants, it was a refreshing experience to ride in a city where cycling was not only accepted but truly embraced.

With beautiful architecture surrounding the roads, every kilometre felt like a journey through Chengdu’s history and culture.

Challenges That Became Memories

Of course, every adventure comes with unexpected moments.

During the rides, the group experienced a short period of rain, but instead of becoming a challenge, it became another unforgettable memory shared among the riders.

There were also a few flat tyres along the way, with around three to four riders experiencing punctures. Some riders briefly lost their way during the journey, but with teamwork and communication, everyone eventually found the correct route and continued riding together.

The group also experienced some uphill sections, but thankfully the climbs were manageable and became another achievement that everyone could celebrate after completing the ride.

These small challenges were not obstacles. They became stories that everyone could laugh about when looking back at the trip.

More Than Just Cycling

Besides cycling, Chengdu offered the group an unforgettable cultural experience.

From delicious local cuisine to breathtaking architecture, every day brought something new to discover. Riders enjoyed the city’s unique food culture, explored beautiful surroundings, and even had the chance to meet the famous pandas that Chengdu is renowned for.

But perhaps the greatest highlight was the connection built between riders.

The Brompton community in Chengdu welcomed the group warmly, joining the rides, guiding everyone around the city, and sharing their passion for cycling. What started as a journey between different places became a meeting between different cycling communities.

Memories That Continue to Ride With Us

Looking back at the Legendary Chengdu Trip 2026, the biggest takeaway was not only the beautiful scenery or exciting routes.

It was the laughter during rides, the conversations between cyclists, the friendships formed along the way, and the feeling of exploring a new city together.

As one participant shared, Chengdu offered everything a cycling adventure could hope for: beautiful scenery, enjoyable routes, and amazing food.

Some journeys may end when we return home, but the memories continue riding with us.
