Updated: 3 days ago

14–15 June 2025

A Weekend of Scenic Riding, Community & Coastal Charm

Brompton Malaysia successfully hosted the Sekinchan Escapade 2025 from 14 to 15 June 2025, bringing together Brompton owners and cycling enthusiasts for an unforgettable two-day cycling retreat in one of Selangor’s most picturesque coastal towns. This specially curated getaway combined scenic landscapes, leisure riding, local culture, and meaningful connections. All experienced the versatility of the Brompton folding bicycle.

Set against the iconic backdrop of golden paddy fields and the coastline of Sekinchan, the escapade was designed to suit riders of all levels, featuring flat terrain, manageable distances, and carefully selected rest stops that highlighted the charm of the town.

Day 1: Arrival & Sunset Ride Through the Paddy Fields

Participants arrived at Villa Chee Hotel from 3.00 PM onwards for registration and check-in. Riders were welcomed by the Brompton Malaysia team and prepared their bicycles for the weekend ahead. The relaxed check-in period allowed everyone to settle in, freshen up, and socialise with fellow riders from different regions.

At 4.45 PM, a comprehensive pre-ride safety and route briefing was conducted. The briefing covered:

●     Route overview and navigation

●     Road and gravel conditions

●     Group riding etiquette

●     Safety reminders and communication hand signals

●     Emergency support and regrouping points

The group embarked on a leisurely evening ride through Sekinchan’s iconic paddy fields. The golden sunset cast a magical glow over the landscape as we pedaled past lush greenery. Memorable stops included Ah Ma House for a nostalgic photo op, Mango King for a sweet tropical treat, the quirky Airplane Site, and the Paddy Research Facilities for some photoshoot. The ride was a perfect introduction to Sekinchan’s rustic beauty.

A Seafood Feast to Remember

As dusk settled, the group gathered for a sumptuous seafood dinner at Villa Chee Restaurant, Seafood D’Bendang. Freshly caught crabs, prawns, squid, and fish were served in flavorful local styles, satisfying hungry riders after their sunset adventure. Laughter and stories filled the air as everyone bonded over delicious food, capping off an exciting first day.

Day 2: Sunrise Magic at Pantai Redang

The second day began before dawn as riders set off at 6:15 AM toward Pantai Redang. The tranquil fishing boat jetty provided the perfect vantage point to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the water. The cool morning breeze and the soft hues of the sky made it a serene and unforgettable experience, setting a peaceful tone for the day’s ride.

Exploring Sekinchan’s Hidden Trails

After the sunrise, the adventure continued as the group cycled along the coastline before venturing into gravel paths and kampung roads. The 30km route took riders through oil palm plantations (kelapa sawit) and quiet village lanes, offering a glimpse of rural Malaysian life. The mix of terrain from smooth tarmac to bumpy trails added an extra layer of excitement to the journey.

A Hearty Breakfast to End the Adventure

The ride concluded with a well-deserved late breakfast at D’Kafe Cikgu Nanis, where riders indulged in the famous Roti Sarang Burung - crispy nest-shaped bread paired with rich beef rendang, alongside classic nasi lemak, ice coffee, and teh tarik. The meal was the perfect finale to an exhilarating weekend of cycling, camaraderie, and exploration.
