16" Puncture Pouch Multitool & Inner Tub

The 16" Puncture Pouch, Multitool & Inner Tube is one of the most clever official accessories released by Brompton in 2025. It targets a specific challenge: providing a complete puncture-repair solution that stays on the bike without occupying the front carrier block or the internal frame tube (where the classic Toolkit resides).

Originally inspired by the "sandwich bag" seen on the limited-edition CHPT3 V4, this pouch is now a standard accessory for the 16-inch wheel lineup.

What’s Inside the Pouch?

The pouch is more than just a bag; it is a pre-packed emergency station. Unlike the internal frame toolkit, this set focuses heavily on leverage and wheel removal.

1. The Multitool:

   • 15mm Spanner: Necessary for removing the rear wheel (and front wheel on non-Superlight models).

   • 10mm Spanner: For brake/mudguard adjustments.

   • 4mm & 5mm Hex Keys: Covers almost every bolt on a Brompton (including the Pentaclip and brake levers).

   • Hex Bit Adaptor: A "widget" that fits into the 15mm spanner to allow the use of smaller bits.

2. Tyre Levers (x2): High-strength plastic levers designed not to scratch your rims. One lever features a slot to hold the hex key adaptors.

3. Inner Tube: Usually comes with a Presta valve for T/P Lines.

   • Note: The pouch is spacious enough to swap the tube for your preferred type or even a lightweight Tubolito.

1. The "Sandwich" Fitment

The pouch is triangular and fits perfectly into the rear triangle of the Brompton frame (just above the rear wheel). It uses heavy-duty Velcro straps, meaning you can install it in seconds without tools. Because it sits in the "dead space" of the frame, it does not interfere with the fold.

2. High-Durability Material

Made from Hydrapalon Nylon, the pouch is fully waterproof and resistant to the "grit and grime" kicked up by the rear tyre. It features a weather-sealed zipper to keep your tools rust-free.

3. Puncture Pouch vs. Classic Toolkit

Installation & Care Tips

• Mounting Tension: Ensure the Velcro straps are pulled tight. A loose pouch can rub against the rear tyre or catch on the chain during gear shifts.

• Valve Type Check: If you have an A or C Line (Schrader), but the pouch comes with a Presta tube, you will need a valve nut or a different tube to ensure a secure fit through the rim hole.

• Cleaning: Simply wipe with a damp cloth. Avoid machine washing, as it can degrade the waterproof Hydrapalon coating.

Placement Pro-Tip:

When mounting the pouch, ensure the zipper is facing outward or upward for easy access. Make sure the straps do not interfere with the rear brake cable or the suspension block movement.
